Prickly heat or miliaria rubra is caused by clogging of sweat glands on the skin. Generally, this condition occurs during hot temperatures and humid conditions.
If you or your child experience a rash or reddish spots that are centered on a particular area of the skin, chances are the prickly heat. This rash feels itchy and even feels pierced the skin.
Causes of Perspiration
Prickly heat is caused by blockage of the sweat ducts which causes the accumulation of sweat under the skin layer. This blockage is triggered by a bacterium called Staphylococcus epidermidis. Prickly heat generally occurs in hot temperatures and humid conditions, as well as when the body is covered with clothes sweat more than usual. This harmless condition generally occurs in the neck, back, face, chest, and thighs.
Handle and Prevent Sweat Prickly
Although not dangerous, but prickly heat, especially for children, can make it uncomfortable and fussy. Use skin moisturizers that contain calamine or creams that contain low levels of hydrocortisone to ease the rash. Both can be obtained at the pharmacy. If prickly heat is very disturbing, the doctor can prescribe an antihistamine tablet.

- Reduce bacterial disorders by using antiseptic or antibacterial soap.

With a simple treatment as above, prickly heat can disappear in a few days.
