In Indonesia, circumcision is usually performed due to religious reasons when boys reach the age of elementary school. However, aged men who have not done it can still undergo circumcision. Meanwhile, the procedure for adult and childhood circumcision is generally the same.
Circumcision is a method of removing the skin that covers the head of the penis. One benefit is that it can reduce the risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease.

Adult Circumcision Procedure
The circumcision procedure takes about 10 minutes but can be up to 1 hour. Before the circumcision procedure begins, the doctor will perform anesthesia. Choice of anesthesia can be through local anesthesia, half body, or general anesthesia that makes you sleep. If the doctor applies general anesthesia, a set of breathing apparatus will be attached to your mouth or nose, and your condition will be monitored during surgery.
Of the three types of anesthesia, local anesthesia is preferred because the price is cheaper and less risky.
After that, a special plastic ring or ring will be attached to the penis. Then, the doctor will remove the skin that covers the head of the penis and then cut it. Finally, the penis will be smeared with ointments such as petroleum jelly and then wrapped loosely in gauze. In addition to regular surgery, circumcision can also be done with laser circumcision.
